In September 2021, Brody started the training programme to become a plumber and electrician through JobXion. He spent two days at the training centre, learning all the basics of the trade. Now he's starting work at one of our clients on 1 December. He's glad he's found a company where he can get to work and learn a lot, even though he doesn't have much experience yet. When you live on your own, going back to school alongside a full-time job is tough. That's why this opportunity is ideal for him. He tells us more about his experiences with JobXion and the training centre.
According to CBS, the eight millionth home was added to the housing stock in June 2021. That's an increase of one million homes since 2005. What stands out is how much the ratio between the number of residents and the number of homes has changed. In 1921 there was one home for every 4.8 residents. Now, a hundred years later, there's one home for every 2.2 residents. Across the Netherlands, a net 39,000 homes were added in the first half of 2021. Of these, eight thousand were built in Noord-Holland, 4,300 of them in Amsterdam. Zeeland saw the smallest increase, with 255 homes.
