Working in construction without experience

No diploma, no background in construction. But you turn up on time, keep at it and want to learn. For some jobs, that's enough to get started.

Where you can start

  • Construction labourer or installer's mate: working alongside an experienced tradesman
  • Solar panel installer: you learn to fit them in a week, the rest you learn on the roof
  • Demolition and clearing work: hard graft, but a good way to get to know construction
  • Warehouse and logistics at an installation company

You grow from there. If you prove yourself, you often start training after six months.

What you do need

  • A valid ID or residence document with a work permit
  • Transport to the pick-up point, or arrangements about it with us
  • Basic VCA, which you can get with us in two days
  • A bit of Dutch, English, Polish or Romanian within the crew

The rest you learn on site. It's always been that way.
